Sofja Roscina (MPI für Physik komplexer Systeme, Dresden, Germany)
Soft Matter Science has enjoyed significant advances in the last two decades. Understanding of these complex fluids relies often on our ability to simulate model systems on various scales. One of the advances came with the development of new simulation techniques for soft matter systems. However, these are increasingly becoming more complex and significant advances, for example by combining some of these methods, requires a more active collaboration and communication among different scientific groups. Especially for newcomers to the field it is becoming harder to get acquainted with those techniques and be in the position of making significant new contributions to this research area. The workshop aims to help both experienced scientists and newcomers to get acquainted to new approaches. Furthermore, the workshop will offer an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and methods, and to design new concepts for the future.
