The renderings shows the primitive path meshwork (see the Science paper for details) of an endlinked network with 2500 strand of length 100 at strain 1,2,4. A small percentage of the strands has been coloured. The strained networks has been affinely transformed back into the unstrained box for direct comparison. If the primitive path meshwork deforms affinely, then that deformation is inverted by the affine back transform. In this case the three pictures should be identical. However, it is easily observed that the three renderings are indeed different, which proves that the primitive path meshwork deforms in a sub-affine manner.
