The new Network MTBio (Modeling and Theory in the Biosciences)
is directed to a fruitful exchange of ideas between experimentalists and theoreticians in order to address the most challenging problems in the biological sciences.
The 1st International MTBio -workshop focuses on structural, dynamical and functional aspects of cellular systems which shall be jointly discussed from experimental, biophysical and biomathematical perspectives within invited talks, workshop symposia and extended poster sessions. The cross-fertilization of experimental and theoretical approaches is the main intention of the workshop.
Workshop symposia:
Symposium organizers and advisory board: W. Alt (Bonn), O. Arino (Pau), M. Bär (Dresden), S. Diekmann (Jena), D. Drasdo (Leipzig), S. Eaton (Dresden), E. Frey (Cambridge), R. Heinrich (Berlin), H.P. Herzel (Berlin), T. Höfer (Berlin), R. Hofestädt (Magdeburg), M. Kirkilionis (Heidelberg), M. Löffler (Leipzig), A. Mikhailov (Berlin), S. Müller (Magdeburg), M. Or-Guil (Dresden), U. Reichl (Magdeburg), W. Schubert (Magdeburg), A. Stevens (Leipzig).
Applications to this workshop are welcome. The deadline for applications
is February 28, 2001.
The registration fee is 300 DM. Costs for accommodation and meals will be
covered by the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems. In exceptional cases, limited funding is available to
partly cover travel expenses.
