A central task of mpipks and its Visitors Program is to conduct international workshops and seminars, which makes it an almost unique institute within the Max Planck Society. Priority is given to frontier subjects which develop rapidly and to new interdisciplinary themes. The institute runs workshops (1 - 2 weeks) and seminars (1 - 3 months). Focus workshops (2 - 3 days) are conducted as well.
