Workshop on
Many-Particle Dynamics in Coulombsystems
Location of workshop: Physikzentrum Bad-Honnef near Bonn/FRG
28.5. - 2.6.2000

Dear Collegues,
Our workshop is called a
Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Seminar , since it is heavily supported by the Heraeus-Foundation.
Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Stiftung
The Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Stiftung is a private foundation which supports research and education in science, especially in physics. Among German physicists it is recognized as the most important private funding institution in their field. Some activities of the foundation are carried out in close cooperation with The German Physical Society (Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft e.V.)

The Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Stiftung carries out a variety of specific activities (click on "Förderprogramme") among which the series of WE Heraeus Seminars dates back to 1975 (for a list of seminars taking place in 1999 click on "Seminare 1999")

Purpose of workshop:
This workshop will bring together scientists working on experimental and theoretical aspects of many-body dynamics. We have invited speakers from different aeres of atomic, molecular and solid state physics. On the experimental side new developments in multifragment imaging techniques with new experimental data will be presented. On the theoretical side the state of the art of present many-body theory will discussed and hopefully new directions of research can be opened. Young european students will attend the meeting too and have the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas and questions with experts on these field.
Each speaker is free to change the topic of his talk, but we would like
in the spirit of the planned meeting that all participants contribute with
good questions and creative anwers to the main issue of the workshop. We
hope that all participants of our meeting will leave the meeting with plenty
of new ideas and motivation. Speculations and grazy ideas in talks and
discussion are very welcome and enforced.
Location of workshop: (see for more details http://www.pbh.de/index.html )
The guest house of the Bad-Honnef physics center (in some 100m distance
to the Rhine river) was originally for our workshop only for the time from
28.5. till 1.6.2000 available. But we were informed that the house can
be partly occupied by us till the June 3rd.2000. If there is enough interest
to stay one or two days longer, we like to know that. Then we could organize
for the June 1st.2000 (this day is a religous holiday in Germany) a tour
to Bonn / Cologne or into the Rhine or Ahr valley. On the June 2nd
.2000 we could continue with discussions and short presentations (oral
contributed papers). The meeting would then end on Fryday evening or saturday
morning. Please inform us, if you are interested to join a tour and if
you can stay till the 2. or the 3.6. 2000
Travel to Bad Honnef coming from Frankfurt/Airport:
If you arrive at Frankfurt airport before 28.5.2000 9.00 you can join
us on a river boat trip from Bingen (leaving 10.45 from Köln-Düsseldorfer
Rheinschiffahrt see http://www.k-d.de/tad/Tagestouren/tagestouren.html)
. The boat trip is about 6 hours and arrives at 17.15 at Bad Honnef. This
boat trip shows us the most beautiful part of the Rhine valley. The boat
trip fare is regularly 90DM, but for our group only 50DM or 25US$ and is
partly sponsored by a private donator.
Otherwise you can take the train from Frankfurt airport to Bonn (about
1.5 hours) and proceed via local Tram to Bad Honnef (Tram no. 66 from Bonn
-main train station to Bad Honnef/ Stop Spitzenbach , about 15km from Bonn).
Or you can go by local trains on the eastern side of the Rhine valley .
Since there is on the 27.th of May a train schedule change we cannot give
at the moment the correct train schedule. We will inform you as soon as
possible.
A detailed plan to find the workshop location is also
found in http://www.pbh.de/index.html
