Even before we include dipole-dipole forces in the theory of weakly interacting Bose gas, the presence of nonzero spin manifests its importance due to spin changing collisions. I will report our recent study of the F=1 system in two and three dimensions. The evolution of such a system may intermittently inject a nonzero orbital momentum to its components, as noted recently by Ueda et al. In the ferromagnetic case I will discuss in detail the resulting thermal equilibrium. |
